Prof. Abdülaziz BAYINDIR

He graduated from the Faculty of Islamic Sciences, Ataturk University in 1976. He achieved his Ph.D. in the field of Islamic law with the thesis titled “Trial Procedures In the Ottoman Empire in the Light of Sharia Court Records” in 1984. By his works on Islamic economics, he became Assoc. Prof. in the fields of Islamic Law and Kalam in 1987. In 1997, he was appointed as lecturer at Istanbul University Faculty of Theology and in 2003 he became a professor. His main research area is establishing a balance between Religion and Science. The Islamic Trial Law (Istanbul 1986), Interest and Trade,  An Overview of Sectarianism the in the light of Qur’an (Istanbul 1997), Religion and Government Relations, Theocracy and Secularism (Istanbul-1999), Intermediation and Idolatry in the Light of Qur’an (Istanbul-2001), What We Know Right And Wrong In The Light Of Qur’an (Istanbul-2005) are some of his major works.
