Assoc. Prof. Abdurrahman ÖZDEMİR

Özdemir was born in Safranbolu, Turkey on February 1, 1969. He graduated from Karabük Imam-Hatip High School. In 1991, he graduated from Faculty of Theology, Ankara University. He received his master’s degree from Ondokuz Mayıs University in 1995 by his thesis titled “Şuf’a in Islamic Law”. He received Phd degree in 2000, and his doctoral dissertation’s topic is “Kuran’da Geçişlilik Bakımından Türkçeye Uymayan Fiiller”. He worked at Samsun-Ladik Imam-Hatip High School as a teacher from 1991 to 1994. He started to work in Faculty of Theology, Hitit University as an Arabic lecturer and then he had been worked as an Assistant Professor and an Associate Professor in the same faculty for 15 years. Now, he is working at İstanbul University, Faculty of Theology, Department of Arabic Language and Rhetoric since 2009. He also worked as the assistant dean, the chairman of Department of Arabic Language and Rhetoric at the same faculty. His areas of interest are Arabic and Turkish Literatures, poem and music. Özdemir is married and has two children.
