Assist. Prof. Musa ALAK

Assistant Professor Dr. Musa Alak

Alak was born in Izmit, Turkey, in 1971. He graduated from Marmara University, Faculty of Theology in 1995. He had worked as a teacher in Izmir and Istanbul for a short time. Then he started to work as an Arabic lecturer in Istanbul University, Faculty of Theology Department of Core Islamic Studies in 1996. He received his master’s degree in Islamic Law from Marmara University in 1999. His study was “An Investigation of İbn Ferhun’s Tebsıratu’l-Hukkam”. And he received Phd degree in Arabic Language and Rhetoric at the same university in 2009. His doctoral dissertation’s topic was “Edition Criticism and Analysis of Kamalpashazâde’s Sharh Taghyir al-Miftah”. He has been the assistant professor at Istanbul University Faculty of Theology, Department of Arabic Language and Rhetoric since 2012. His research focuses on Arabic studies, biography and literature. Alak is married and has two children.
